I am a second year student at Georgia Institute of Technology studying Computer Engineering with a concentration in Cybersecurity and Information Internet-Works. My projected graduation date is May 2026 where I plan on pursuing a career in cybersecurity afterwards. Currently, I am most passionate about all things Network related, but I am still exploring this vast field.
Born in New York City, I was sent off to China to live with my grandparents until I was five, before I moved back with my parents in Savannah, Georgia. As a satellite baby, I started schooling in Savannah where I would spend much of my free time helping my parents. It was not until my junior year of high school that I discovered the field of cybersecurity.
Why Cyber?
Through a program that my school offered, I had a chance to intern over the summer for my local school district’s IT team. It was through this internship that I had the chance to get hands-on experience with specifically being a SOC analyst. While reading through network logs wasn’t particularly interesting, what fascinated me was through what my mentor had taught me.
Cybersecurity is a vast field. One fundamental aspect is how it is ever changing, and you have to constantly keep up with the most current technologies. It never gets old. As it is a career with many different roles, one position that caught my eye is that of a security engineer. Tinkering has always been a passion for me. Configuring, maintaining, and supporting cybersecurity tools within the network or even the network itself is what I find fascinating. To me, it seems like a game where your goal is to create and protect your base against enemies.
My interests!
Outside of work, I enjoy playing catch, looking at cars, cooking, drinking energy drinks, messing with my dog waffle exploring, gymming, building legos, and gaming!
